Frequently asked questions
How much does landscaping cost?
A focused landscape improvement and a complete custom-home exterior are very different projects. Many of our complete landscape design/build projects fall between $20,000 and $200,000+, while smaller focused projects are also considered. Landscape maintenance follows different service requirements.
Why do you ask about budget?
Budget is part of good design. A $25,000 landscape should be approached differently from a $150,000 complete transformation. Knowing the range helps us prioritize and design something that can actually be built.
Do you charge for landscape design?
In many situations we do not separately charge for initial concept work connected to a serious construction proposal. Detailed hand-drawn plans, extensive design development or design requested independently from construction may require a design fee. We explain chargeable design work before doing it.
Do you require a deposit?
Yes. Signed jobs under $20,000 typically require a 20% deposit. For jobs over $20,000 we establish a progress-payment plan with the customer. A common structure is 25% up front, 25% around one-third progress, 25% around two-thirds progress and 25% at completion, subject to the signed project agreement.
Do you warranty plants?
An optional one-year plant warranty can be purchased. The cost is percentage-based on the plant-material portion of the project and provides a one-time replacement for qualifying plant material, subject to the warranty terms.
Do you warranty your workmanship?
Yes. Every project includes a one-year workmanship warranty, subject to the signed project agreement.
How do change orders work?
Talk with the project manager or estimator. If the requested change adds cost, we discuss the amount with you before moving forward. We do not proceed with a customer-requested added-cost change until you approve it.
Can you coordinate irrigation, electrical, gas or plumbing?
Yes, when appropriate. Those are specialty trades outside our crews’ core scope, but we work with trusted contractors and can include and coordinate their work as part of the overall exterior project.
Do you mow lawns?
No. Our maintenance department specializes in landscape care: weeding, shrub trimming, landscape-bed cleanups, spring and fall cleanups, mulch, annual flowers and landscape and lighting-system inspections.
Do you offer financing?
Third-party financing options are available for qualified customers. We also do not add convenience fees for credit-card or bank-transfer payments.
What happens if something goes wrong?
We do not claim to be perfect. If we make a mistake, we own it. If qualifying work needs to be corrected, we address it. That accountability is part of what the Integrity Landscapes name means to us.
